Thomas W Samuelson MD with ASCRS President from Bonnie An Henderson MD Glaucoma specialist Thomas W Samuelson MD took over as ASCRS President from Bonnie An Henderson MD. Henderson noted expansion of educational programmes, successful lobbying efforts to improve patient access to advanced technologies and improvements in the society’s finances as highlights of her ASCRS presidency. Incoming ASCRS President Dr Samuelson vowed to redouble support for residency training in developing countries, global education programmes and advocacy for patient access in the coming year. He also noted the growing importance of anterior segment surgeons mastering minimally invasive glaucoma surgery techniques to better meet patient needs
